Before it runs out

Skirt JCPennys, Tank JCPennys, Hat Walmart, Sandals Gap, Bracelet DIY
So I thought I would sneak in a tank top and sandals before the weather completely runs out of warm sunshine! And my favorite maxi skirt of course. This is just me trying to squeeze out every last bit of good weather, did you notice the yellow nail polish. Yeah, I'm getting a little desperate.

I wore this outfit yesterday, today I am stuck in bed. Completely sick. And only after one week of college and it is the weekend! I will be spending today in bed, taking medicine, and getting lots of rest. So I hope that everyone has a good weekend.

Flower Crown

I love flower crowns. I know that summer is over but does that mean that my love for them should dwindle? I don't think so. In this post I made a flower crown out of real flowers only to find it wilted by the end of the day. So I decided that I would make a faux one. I pretty much followed Delightfully Tacky's directions to a T. Go there for the directions I used.

I had the best time taking these photos. It was so much fun and I think they are just super simple and beautiful. As for the flower crown, now that I have made one I can't wait to make more.

These ones are next on my agenda:
1/2/3/4/5/6
I think a fall or winter inspired crown would be awesome. I will also post direction with my next one!

Blue and Beige

Clever title huh?
So this outfit isn't really rocket science. I am glad that I can layer again which mean school has started and fall is in the air. This hair on the other hand.. two days old and thrown into a bun that is way to high. Perfectly me.

Pants Target, Sweater Old Navy, Shirt Clark's, Heels Old Navy, Watch Sweet T's (local shop)
Classes started yesterday for us here at the University of Washington. It is crazy to think that some people have been in school for 6 weeks already. This quarter I am taking Swedish, Advanced Photography, and Photography Theory. I am also teaching a freshman seminar class which is super exciting. My first day was good, now off to my second day of classes.

Cocoa,Oat,Gram No Bake Bars

Aren't no bake recipes wonderful! You don't have to bake them, what could be better! I really love Chocolate Oatmeal No Bake Cookies Clark and I make them all the time! So of course I wanted/needed to come up with a recipe that formed them into a no bake bar. And Wallha! Here is the recipe.
Directions
Bottom layer
1. 6 gramcrackers mushed up 2. Melt 3/4 cup chocolate chips in microwavable safe bowl for 1 minute. 3. Add 2 tble spoons melted butter and gramcracers. 4. Make sure butter and chocolate chips are melted completely and everything is mixed well. 5. Set aside 1/4 of the mixture in bowl for topping. 6. Press the rest of the mixture to button the of a 8x8 pan that is lined with wax paper. 7. Put in freezer for 10 minutes.

Middle Layer

-1/2 stick of butter
-1/3 cup milk
-1 cup sugar
-2 teaspoons vanilla
-3 tablespoons of cocoa
-2 tablespoons of peanut butter
-2 cups quick oats
In a pot bring milk, sugar and butter to a boil. Then add vanilla and cocoa stir very well. Then add peanut butter stir very well. Add oats stir. Poor mixture into the pan.

Top Layer

1. Sprinkle the 1/4 mixture you set aside on top of middle layer and press in firmly 2. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of dry quick oats on top.

Refrigerate for 1 hour then set out and let thaw back to room temperature. Cut and serve.

Warning: Messy, crumbly, and super delicious!

Happy Birthday my love.

I just wanted to wish my man, Clark a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And what could be bigger then publishing a post saying happy birthday? (a baseball game jumbo-tron happy birthday, a MTV's sweet 16 happy birthday, a surprise party) Those are just a few off the top of my head, but all I have is this blog post. So....

Clark
Happy Birthday, I hope that you have an amazing day today. I am sorry we don't get to spend it together! I wish we could with all my heart. You are the most amazing man and I couldn't be happier to be your girl. I can't wait until I get to see you again. I love you. Have a wonderful birthday!!
P.S. Don't forget to open the present I sent you.

Apple Harvest

During July I mentioned that I grew up on a farm. I explained that my father grows cherries and that we help every summer etc. Well my dad also grows apples. He has had apples longer then cherries and he has more apples then cherries as well. However, I am not sure which one he likes growing better.  I know there are different pros/cons for each. Anyways, I just thought I would mention a little tidbit of my life for you guys today. Also I couldn't resist the lovely backdrop that the apples trees gave.
Shoes: Target, Shorts: Old Navy, Top: Macy's, Cardigan: Old Navy, Bracelets: DIY, Target.

Wow it has been a long couple of days! It took two days to get from Philadelphia to WA state. A seven hour delayed flight will do that to someone I guess. I swear I have the worst luck traveleing. My whole family doesn't want to travel with my and I don't blame them. I quite enjoy traveling alone anyways! On another note, I am all moved into my dorm at college. I dormed last year too, but I can already tell this year will be better. I love my roommate (we met last year), bigger rooms, and I have one more year of experience. This will be a wonderful year, I can feel it.

Last days of vacation

So I am going to fit the last week of my vacation into one post!!! We checked out Boston so beautiful and historic. We also watched the Boston Red Sox play the New York Yankees at Fenway Park!!! Then we headed up the coast of New Hampshire and Maine.
Maine's coast is so lovely and definitely different then New Jersey. It is more rocky and jagged but still gorgeous. We saw some amazing lighthouses!
We also snuck over into Vermont. This state is so beautiful and much more then I expected we stopped at two maple farms, did a corn maze, sampled cheese and syrup, and had a great time. By far one of the highlights to this whole trip!!! Probably because it was completely unexpected.
After Vermont we drove down through upstate New York and Pennsylvania. And our last stop was Philadelphia were we saw more historic sites including the Liberty Bell.
We fly home tomorrow! I am excited to get home, then get back to college. I have a feeling this year is going to be a good one!

New York City

In NYC on day 5 of the trip we took a subway from our hotel and headed straight over to Central Park. We strolled through the park making our way to the MET were I got to see some Monet's and Van Gohg paintings and the huge painting of Washington crossing the Delaware Rver. Then we headed out of the museum after a couple of hours and we got chicken kebabs from a street vendor then we headed to the famous Serendipidity 3 were we got Sundaes and Frozen Hot Chocolate. We also went to the Natural History Museum and Times Square. Before we headed back to the hotel we say Grand Central Station.
Day 6 in New York we spend in Lower Manhattan. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge into the city. We saw Wall Street, New York Stockage, and the Pier. Then we went to the 9/11 memorial. It was amazing. We also took the Staten Island Ferry to Staten Island then back to Manhattan. It was an amazing few days in New York City. And I was here during fashion week! That really doesn't mean anything since I didn't get to experience any of it. Maybe someday though right!

Delaware/New Jersey/Coney Island 3&4

Day 3 and 4 we left Washington D.C and headed through Maryland and Delaware. We caught a ferry in Lewes Delaware to Cape May, New Jersey. The New Jersey coast is beautiful and the Atlantic Ocean is pretty warm! It was nice and relaxing to drive up coast of New Jersey after spending 2 days walking my butt off in Washington!
I had fun walking the boardwalk at Ocean City and Seaside Heights I course I had to see the famous Jersey Shore house and Shore Store. Then we made our way up to New York and over the Coney Island.
Unfortunately the area was on tornado watch and the rides weren't going. But we got a Nathan's famous chili dog!! So I was happy of course. We are spending the night right by the Brooklyn Bridge and tomorrow is the MET and Staten Island Ferry:)
