Inspirations: carolina and concerts

I haven't done inspirations in a while and thought Wednesday was the perfect day for some inspirations to make it though the week. I have 2 more days of classes then finales next week then I am out for summer. Here are some lovely inspirations for this week. Enjoy

So I will be lifeguard this summer at the swimming pool in my hometown, I did the same thing last year and I sure got a great tan. I am trying to enjoy these summers before I have to "get a real job." And for the next photo, as you may know I attend the University of Washington and are mascot is the Huskies so with this school year ending I need to represent my school.

The finale of America's Next Top Model is tonight. I am excited, I have been watching the entire season and this season is British vs Americans and now at the end there is one British and one American. So this next inspiration is my favorite, I used to go to Kenny Chesney concerts every summer! I haven't gone in about three years. I really would love to go again but all the tickets are sold out for this summer. Maybe next year. Now for the last photo, I am will be heading to South Carolina in August to watch Clark graduate Army basic training. I have never been to the south and I am excited. I will let you all about that once it gets closer.

Have a wonderful rest of the week. Who else is ready for summer?

I also wanted to mention, I received "The Sunshine Award" from Tiffany of Happy Everandom. The rules are to list 10 things that make you happy and pass on to five other bloggers and let them know.

And then we watched the sunrise

One thing that I have wanted to do forever is watch the sunrise about two hours from my hometown, it just seemed like the perfect place for a sunrise. And since I was home this last weekend and Clark is leaving in about a week for the Army I thought it was the perfect time to watch the sunrise. We woke up at 3 am and grabbed some donuts and milk and headed out for the two hour drive. Here are the photos from that morning.

As you can see there was no showers or brushing the hair for us just waking up and heading out. I had a lovely time and can now cross this off my list.

What do you want to cross of your bucket list this summer?

Tribal Maxi

First I will start of by saying that this is probably the simplest and easiest outfit that anyone will post as an outfit post. But I just couldn't help myself, the print of this maxi skirt is to die for!

I wore this outfit out on a date with my boyfriend on this lovely memorial day weekend. After the date we ended up going to a casino, I know classy. But hey, I won $10 at Blackjack so I was more than happy. Write now as I am writing this post, I am watching (on my computer) my brother play in the DIII NCAA College Baseball World Series! Wish him luck for me!

Photos taken by Clark
Outfit
Maxi Skirt: JCPenneys
Sweater: Gap
Sandals: Payless

Isn't my dog the cutest! Well I guess he is my parents dog, but his name is Hank and he is the best dog! In this photos, this is also my natural hair. I just let it hair dry and this is how it looks. I love it sometimes and sometimes I hate it. My hair and I have a love hate relationaship. But I love it in these photos.

This is also the first photo shoot that my boyfriend Clark took my photos. I think he did a lovely job. What do you think?

I hope everyone is having a lovely Memorial Day weekend.

Answers to ..ask me anything

Here are the answers from the Ask me anything post I did last week. I loved all the questions some were more serious then others but I had fun answering all of them. And it gave me a chance to reflect back on myself without even knowing it! I will definitely do something like this again in the future.

Is your hair color natural or is it colored?
My hair color is natural. Once upon a time (about 4 years ago) I used to get beach blonde highlights. That was my freshman year of high school and my “trying to impress others faze” but I realized that I didn’t want to be paying $100 every 6 weeks for blonde highlights for the rest of my life so I let them grow out. All natural now.
If you could visit any country you wanted which would you choose?
There is so many that I want to visit how can I choose. I guess I’ll put the country I would like to visit most right now. That would be France; I have wanted to go ever since 6th grade. (Cant remember why) But New Zealand is in a close second. I want to see as much of this world as I can so it is only a matter of when…
How long have you been in Seattle and do you love it?
I have been in Seattle since September 2011 so about 8 months. I will be returning to Eastern Washington for the summer then back to Seattle in September. I really do love it; the weather in the winter is not great. But Seattle is a really great city and there is always something to do and something to see.

Where are you going to school?
I am attending the University of Washington in Seattle. I am currently a freshman but this year is almost over. And it has gone by super fast.
If you were to give a tourist a list of 5 places to visit in your own city, where would you suggest they go?
Difficult question… (Thinking) …..
1.     Seattle Center. Okay so this is probably on a list on the Internet somewhere of “things to do in Seattle” but I don’t think anyone tourist or anyone should come to Seattle without seeing the center. The Seattle Center is home to the Space Needle, Key Arena, Seattle Pacific Science Center, Seattle Music Experience, International Fountain.
2.     Alki Beach. So I posted about my first and only experience at Alki Beach here. It is a great sandy beach and a must-go-to spot when it is sunny. There are fire pits and beach volleyball nets. Be warned it is a little hard to find parking but so worth it.
3.     University of Washington campus. Now this might be my bias opinon but it is a lovely campus and usually every weekend there is something to do. Come during the spring and the cherry blossoms are a MUST see. Also it is located right on Union Bay so it is a scenic spot.
4.     Pikes Place. Now this is definitely on a list somewhere. But if a tourist was coming to Seattle they can’t miss Pikes Place. I would also suggest checking out the gum wall and the original Starbucks while you are in that area. Both are about 100 feet from Pikes Place.
5.     Seattle Public Library and the Freeway Park. So I guess I snuck two in one here on number 5. Hope that is okay. The Seattle Public Library is huge and also has a really cool architectural design. And about one block away from the Seattle Public Library is the Freeway Park. Which is a Park that is over the Interstate 5 freeway. It is pretty cool. Also if you haven’t noticed all the places I listed above are FREE so see. Well not the Space Needle, which is included in the Seattle Center.
From left: Alki Beach, Seattle Public Library, Gum Wall (no Clark is not actually licking it) , Space Needle, and Pikes Place during Christmas.

Can you describe your blog in one sentence?
Yes I can. The sentence would be:
All Things Average Girl is a blog about the average girl’s ups, downs, life, love, style and everything in between.

What’s your favorite Disney movie?
Another tough question. I would have to say my favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. It is really great. I always become a little disappointment when he turns into a human at the end. I just think he is adorable as the Beast.

Would you ever consider getting a dog?
Yes for about 5 years now I have wanted a English Bulldog. I will name him Duke. But I figure that I cant/shouldn’t get one until I have my own apartment and can give him as much love as he deserves. So I guess it will be a couple more years until them.

So those were all the questions from the Ask me anything post. If you ever have a question.. Feel free to email me.

I hope you enjoy.

Star gazing: Rachel Bilson

I have loved Rachel Bilson's style forever it seems like. She just looks so natural, simple, and pretty. Its like being fashionable to her is effortless. I guess that is what everyone should strive for, effortless style. Anyways I love this outfit! And perfect for spring/summer.

I cant believe its already May. Here is Seattle, it doesn't seem like there is much of a spring time. I am ready to head home to eastern Washington to enjoy the 100 degree weather!

Sunglasses Ray Ban, Dress Mod Cloth, Blazer H and M, Shoes DH styles.

What do you think? Her blazer is a little more cropped then the one I have pictured. I couldnt find a cute cropped one that I liked. Anyways. I love the Mod Cloth dress! Do you like Rachel Bilson's style?

And then my boyfriend came to town

So this weekend has been wonderful. My boyfriend came to visit me here at school and let me tell you sleeping in a dorm bed with another person is not very fun. Anyways Clark a.k.a the boyfriend leaves for Army basic training in early June before I am even done with my school year. Sad day. So it is really nice to see him when I can. We have been dating for a little longer 2 and 1/2 years and plan on staying together through it all. I know it wont be easy but it will definitely be worth it.

Anyways here are some wonderful pictures from our weekend together.

I am wearing Forever 21 plaid shirt, American Eagle short, bracelet I got at the street fair.

We went to Alki Beach which neither of us had been to before. And parking was really hard to find but since I have been in Seattle for about 8 months I have become excellent at parallel parking that is something I am proud of. We also went to a street fair and got matching bracelets, and we went to Seattle Center again. We seem to always go down there when Clark is in town.

So now I am getting ready for Monday and the start to a new week. Well at least Memorial Weekend is coming and that means a long weekend and trying to pack up my dorm room.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Enjoy.

P.S. If you have a question for me go here and I will be answering them in a post sometime this week, so hurry and get your questions in.
